to the Wilderness! The One Within, If You Can Find It Hello! I'm not looking for what most people on here are looking for. Please read the entire post before flagging it as miscategorized. For this posting to mean anything to you, we first have to be on the same page about a few things: 1) The world is fucked. years ago in what was ed (aptly, at the time) the fertile crescent, when people decided that they were separate from the earth, and that it was their God-given right to control and everything around them. This of thought is also ed Patriarchy, and it has infiltrated our entire globalized , economic and political systems, as well as most people's heads and hearts. Indigenous cultures not only were able to live sustainably for millions of years, but also had more leisure time, more time with their families, richer cultures which reflected the people, land, and directly around them, and much healthier bodies, to name a few. I think it is totally absurd that we are the only creatures on the planet to have to pay for space to exist and food to eat. If this is your first time hearing these of ideas, this probably isn't the post for you, but I would encourage you to do some reading about indigenous vs. modern ways of life and the impacts they have had on our planet, communities, and psyches. The Endgame books by Jensen are an excellent read. Since I started awakening to how bad shit really is, I have gone from deciding to be an organic farmer, to wanting a small homestead, to working towards setting up , permaculture systems. I have come to realize that even this is not enough. Really, the only sustainable way of being is the Stone Age, and, as I pointed out, it is also the way with the highest quality of life. Even on a small organic farm, I feel stupid working all day to grow food, considering how if my farm weren't there and the population were in check, food would be free for the taking all around. Obviously, returning to a hunter-gatherer lifestyle, although necessary for our survival as a species, is difficult to do, considering the privatization of land, intentional and unintentional poisoning of the earth, lack of wild foods to eat, and the watchful eye of the , which doesn't like us doing anything it doesn't profit from. So, it is my goal to make my way to a truly wild space, where land is not owned (or at least unsupervised) and the wild landscape is still intact. Most likely this will be Alaska, the Yukon, or somewhere with similarly low population density. That will be one of many decisions to be made. I am looking for a person (female) or a group of people (mixed) to join me in living sustainably and respectfully in a hunter-gatherer, possibly nomadic style. TO BE CLEAR: I am not talking about starting a , a farm, or a homestead. I am talking about doing something humans have done for the last eight million years -- going to an undeveloped, unpopulated place and taking care of ourselves. In my vision, we would be matriarchal and not , other than recognizing the sacredness of every moment in time and every molecule in space, and celebrating the natural cycles. This is a SERIOUS proposal. It will not be easy, and there are many decisions to be made as a couple (or group). It should go without saying, but you really must think about what life will be like without , Game of Thrones, Chapman, , beer, and all the other things we have (at the rest of the world's expense) as people living in 21st century America. If that thought scares you, again, this probably is not the post for you. That said, you should also consider what life will be like with clean air and water, clothes that we made ourselves, music that comes from our souls instead of our radios, food that is healthful and taken with respect, communally made decisions, and, someday, who have never watched a rape on television or sat in a exam room. I am and in shape. You are , in shape, intelligent, and actually capable (mentally, emotionally, physiy, etc) of disconnecting from our society and living primitively, in a place which will probably be cold and lonely. I am planning doing this within the next couple years, after getting to know each other, learning skills, and doing research. After re-reading this post a couple times, please respond with a little about yourself/selves, what sort of experience you have with primitive living skills, what attracts you about this posting, and whatever else you feel is pertinent.
